Low Angle Rope Rescue Operations

This course will address the basic rope rescue skills necessary for disaster preparedness, response and recovery, with emphasis on: victim packing and low angle rope rescue systems. 

Prerequisite: None

This class is taught in cooperation with Santa Ana College Fire Technology Department. Upon completion students will receive a California State Fire Marshal Certificate and .5 unit of community college credit through Santa Ana College.

Confined Space Rescue Technician

This five day 40 hour course is an intensive hands-on training program that will prepare you to respond to confined space emergencies.This course of instruction prepare the student  in identifying confined spaces and permit-required confined spaces, the hazards associated with permit required confined space operation, and the roles and responsibilities of the rescue team.

Prerequisite: Confined Space Awareness

This class is taught in cooperation with Santa Ana College Fire Technology Department. Upon class completion students will receive a California State Fire Marshal Certificate and .8 unit of community college credit through Santa Ana College.

​​​Rescue Systems 1

This is a five day (40 hour) course. Key topics include: Team Organization, Rescue, and Environmental Considerations, Use of Ropes, Knots Rigging & Pulley Systems, Descending, Rappelling, and Belaying Tools and Techniques, and Subsurface Rescue Techniques.

Prerequisites: Fire Fighter I or equivalent training, Low Angle Rope Rescue Operational

This class is taught in cooperation with Santa Ana College Fire Technology Department. Upon class completion students will receive a California State Fire Marshal Certificate and .8 unit of community college credit through Santa Ana College.  


Rope Rescue Technician

This course will prepare participants to undergo competency testing for high angle rescue. The scope of the program is to familiarize participants with the high angle environment and experience; and for them to safely participate in the engineering and operation of simple to complex rescue systems.

Prerequisite: Rescue Systems 1 (2009) and Low Angle Rope Rescue Operations or Rescue Systems 1 (prior to 2009)

Upon completion students will receive a California State Fire Marshal Certificate.

Driver Operator 1B

This course provides the student with information on pump construction and theory of pump operations. Topics include: methods for performing basic hydraulics and techniques on basic inspections, documentation, maintenance, and troubleshooting fire pumps.

Prerequisite: Fire Fighter I Training Recommended, California Drivers licence, class A, B or C.

Upon completion students will receive a California State Fire Marshal Certificate. 

CPR / AED

Sudden cardiac arrest is the number one killer in the United States. In this training, you will become CPR Certified through the American Heart Association, learn how to use an AED, and how to administer First Aid.

Prerequisite: None

Upon completion students will receive a Heart Saver CPR / AED certification card.

Rescue Systems 2

Provides advanced heavy rescue system techniques in a disaster setting with a full day is spent on these areas: hand/power tools, lifting/stabilizing, heavy objects, building collapse and shoring. Other key topics include: floor weight calculations, building search, confined space considerations, damaged structure hazard assessment, and USAR ICS. 

​Prerequisite: I-200, Rescue Systems I

This class is being taught in cooperation with Santa Ana College Fire Technology Department. Upon class completion students will receive a California State Fire Marshal Certificate and .8 unit of community college credit through Santa Ana College. 

Driver Operator 1A

This course provides the student with information on driver responsibilities, recognized standards, and related laws for fire apparatus. Topics include basic inspections, documentation, maintenance, and troubleshooting opportunity to increase his or her driving skills during simulated driving conditions.

Prerequisite: Fire Fighter I Training Recommended

Upon completion students will receive Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator I certification. 
 

Our Classes

Trench Rescue Technician

This three day (24 hour) course will take you from classroom discussion to working safely and efficiently in a trench rescue environment. This hands-on training program will cover topics that include: Trench and Excavation Regulations, Understanding Soil, Trench Configurations, Trench Hazards, Rescue Team Preparation, Incident Response, Initial On Shoring Systems, Victim Rescue and Recovery and Incident Termination.
